Shih Tzu Temperament
The Temperament Of The Shih Tzu
The Shih Tzu temperament is
probably the reason why this breed is so popular. They can
adapt easily to almost any living situation, either a large
house in the country or a small apartment in the
city.
Either way they seem perfectly content. They make great
guard dogs since they possess fearless personalities and bark
only when there is great reason.
Being a long coated breed, you have to groom them
frequently. But if you do it right, you will have a nice silky
coat to pet.
Thanks to the Shih Tzu temperament, they have a big
personality. They are lively and active and appear proud of who
they are. They have a typical small dog attitude of thinking
they are bigger than they actually are.
The Shih Tzu has continued to grow in popularity since the
1960's and is now one of the most popular dog breeds in
American according to the AKC.
As far as intelligence goes, they are considered to be above
average for a dog breed and tend to learn new commands easily.
Shih Tzu get bored easily so it is important that you provide
them with daily exercise and things to do.
The Shih Tzu temperament has won
over a lot of people and will continue to do so, with their
nice silky coat, intelligence, and easy going demeanor.
